On a yacht, small parts cause surprisingly big problems.
A broken clip, missing bracket, cracked housing, or discontinued plastic component can delay a refit, stop an installation, or create unnecessary stress before an owner trip.
Oceanfy Marine has developed a simple process to solve these situations quickly.
Instead of searching through suppliers or waiting weeks for spare parts, you can submit the problem directly through the Oceanfy Marine client portal, where we review, design, and produce a custom solution.
The fastest way to start is through the Oceanfy Marine client portal, which was built to make communication simple and transparent for yacht projects.
In the portal you can:
• Describe the problem
• Upload photos of the broken or missing part
• Add approximate dimensions
• Explain where the part is installed and what it does
This information allows us to quickly understand the situation and evaluate whether the component can be recreated or improved through 3D printing.
The portal also keeps all communication, files, and updates in one place, so captains and technical teams can follow the progress of the request.
Once the request is submitted, Oceanfy Marine reviews the part and its function.
We evaluate:
• Whether the component is suitable for 3D printing
• What material is most appropriate for the environment
• Whether the part should be recreated exactly or improved
• Installation requirements and tolerances
Not every part is suitable for additive manufacturing, but many small marine components are ideal candidates.
If the part is a good fit, we proceed with the design stage.
Using the information provided through the portal, the component is recreated using CAD modeling.
Depending on the situation, this may involve:
• Reverse engineering the original part
• Creating a redesigned version that fits the same function
• Designing a custom solution for a new installation
• Producing a prototype version to verify fit
This design process is handled by Henrik Moradi Harbou-Hals, marine engineer and boatbuilder.
The goal is to ensure the component has the correct dimensions, tolerances, and durability for its intended use.
Once the design is completed, the appropriate material is selected based on where the part will be used.
Typical materials include:
• ASA for UV-resistant exterior components
• PETG for durable interior parts
• Nylon / PA12 for stronger technical applications
• Carbon-fiber reinforced nylon for higher strength parts
• TPU for flexible components such as seals or gaskets
Material selection depends on exposure to sun, heat, saltwater, and mechanical stress.
After the design and material are confirmed, the component is produced using high-resolution additive manufacturing.
This stage includes:
• precision printing
• inspection of the finished component
• basic finishing if required
• fit verification where applicable
Because parts are produced locally on the French Riviera, production time is typically much faster than ordering traditional spare parts from overseas suppliers.
Once the part is ready, it can be:
• delivered to the vessel
• picked up locally
• installed as part of a service visit
• integrated into a larger refit or repair project
All updates and documentation remain visible in the Oceanfy Marine portal, allowing captains and technical managers to track the request from start to finish.
The Oceanfy Marine portal was created to simplify communication between vessels and technical service providers.
Instead of long email threads or scattered messages, the portal allows you to:
• submit service requests
• upload photos and documentation
• track project progress
• request quotes
• communicate directly with Oceanfy Marine
This system brings transparency and structure to yacht maintenance and custom fabrication projects.
If you have a broken, missing, or custom part that may need to be recreated, you can submit the request through the Oceanfy Marine portal.
Simply provide:
• a photo of the part
• approximate dimensions
• a short explanation of what the component does
Oceanfy Marine will review the request and advise whether a 3D printed solution is possible.
